The speculative development of ten 464sq m (5,000sq ft) high spec industrial units, built in two blocks on a 1ha green field site in Altham, Lancashire.
The units were specifically designed to cater to an unsatisfied market demand from smaller SME companies, who required high quality front end office space, together with storage, distribution or manufacturing space to the rear.
The scheme was specifically designed in a horseshoe or “C“ layout so that the industrial element of the site was hidden away from the more prestigious office facade and “front door” image that many of the tenants wanted to portray.
The development was very successful with all ten speculative units being let within six months of completion.
