An award winning, mixed- use, showpiece regeneration scheme on the site of a former cotton mill in Lancaster.
This 6ha (15 acre) site, originally built for cotton production in 1802, represents a model of excellence in urban regeneration.
Early efforts were focused on demolishing old dilapidated building to expose the original stone built mill structures, and to provide car parking and access.
The Master plan divided the site into Residential, Leisure, Education, Commercial (Office) and Industrial Zones.
Buildings were refurbished on a sequential basis, to take account of funding availability, and growing market demand.
The site provides over 46,450 sq m (500,000 sq ft) of industrial and commercial accommodation.
